Luke 5:4
Jesus says, ‘Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch’
Luke 5:5a
Peter’s first reaction was like our own reaction often is – negative and pessimistic. He didn’t think it would work, ‘We’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything’
Luke 5:5b
However, possibly after a long pause, he says, ‘But because you say so, I will let down the nets’
Luke 5:6
‘When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break’
Today was incredible, well I mean everyday is incredible but today was extra incredible. Lord showed me how he is faithful and the results of me trusting Him in the midst of my chaos and troubles.
I am involved in a project with zoo and my team has the least people among the 3 teams. We only had 5 people while other teams had 6-8 members, it seemed so much lesser because by using our very own logic and thinking the more the better quality of work.
But I failed to view it in the eyes of my Father. I was so worried and discouraged although it is a 5 man team but only 2 of us were doing the work. It was tough and no easy job to produce what a 6-8 people team can. The competitive spirit in me strike which I believed its not healthy at all. Every single time when I signed into my slides I asked and prayed "God please help me, give me your knowledge and wisdom that I need to get things done and make ends meet" I am so weak in coming up games ... and what more for 3-12 year old kids.
Few weeks later, the work is done and we are to present our ideas to the zoo team on Monday. Zero confidence I had little faith in my team's work and myself but surprisingly we did quiteeee well I guess? And the zoo team will decide on which team's idea or games they will adopt.
Today, we went back to school and listened to the results of zoo's team. "OHMYGOD" I can say more than 50% of our idea get chosen by the zoo team. I AM BEYOND SHOCK.
My lack of faith and I failed to view my circumstance through the lenses of Jesus. Although my team had the least number of people and there's only 2 people doing the job but God made it possible.
Thank you Father. Although we are not the best, the smartest, the ones with most number of people in a team but still Lord you brought me through this uncertainty and you showed your grace and mercy through my circumstances. Thank you Lord.
Joyce Meyer comments, ‘Sadly, we often stare at our giant-sized problems instead of at our God... I believe that more time spent worshiping and praising God would help us keep a clear focus and enable us to go forward with a strong, positive attitude, believing we can do anything God tells us to do.’
